Gaga magazine & assorted miscellaneous news

Gaga magazine is a Polish children and parents magazine that I first heard of thanks to wonderful online artistic friends from Poland (waves, hi!), and it was very nice and much fun to have a photo in the latest issue of this magazine, which we had learnt about via the wonderful Lila's Lines and Agata's artwork, both much admired.

Yay! Enjoying reading gaga magazine

Amelie taking a break from the previous week's tea party and enjoying
reading the exciting mail we received that day! Our copy of gaga magazine :D:D

It was very nice to get to read gaga magazine for ourselves, and so fun now Amélie is there in a small part as well, with a rainy day photo in a little feature along with other children in the street kid's fashion page. Yay!

The cover is quite wonderful and interesting

And oh dear, toddlers and their mood swings! This is what she did when she got to the page with her on it! Suddenly threw it. Not quite the picture of the page with her on it that I was expecting to get, ha, but there it is! Thanks, gaga! We love it :D:D

Amélie loves her new special magazine, I assure you! And sharing just for fun, the momentary mood above was happy next minute, silly in fact, like so...

Funny girl!

Gaga magazine

I also wanted to mention two baby photos of mine in a recent mosaic at Maglia libera tutti, as it was cute cute and makes me baby nostalgic: a blog feature of knitted babywear and baby portrait mosaics, including two of my baby Amélie photos , top left and middle image in the bottom row, her 'famous' rosebud baby hats in pink and white...

(also in my magic wardrobe blog here)
and darling sweet knitted baby boots in the same blog post. So cute...

Museum work ~ something else keeping me busy right now

Something a little different!
I have been taking photographs for the museum again. It is something I have done annually, and every year a different collection or subject matter to catalogue, worked through in bulk (i.e. hundreds).

Vintage baby shoes

We are in the middle of photographing the Pacific Island collection, approximately 1880's-1920's. Here are a few items from previous years that are a little more related to children's photography than the current spears, clubs, fish hooks and mats at least.

Assorted tea sets, etc

Maja & Ju ju, "books and stuff"

I love the whimsical, creative, and wonderfully childlike style of MAJA and JU JU, two books about kids and imaginative, creative things to make and wear, and from the simplest household material and treasures on hand or found.

It reminds me so much of the fun and play my children and I love to experience and create as well, and something of which we need to do more of lately. :))

The miniature children in the Ju Ju photos are so sweet :)

And this fabulous kid-imaginative room reminds me of the fabric strip baby amusement tactile hanging ornaments we used to make and hang too.
My friend made hers around a hoop hanging from a hook. Just a sensory delight for her baby sitting on the floor playing with the hanging fabrics. Love!
This room also looks a little 'Where the wild things are' to me. :)

Little forest fairytale II

mushrooms

These are mostly candid photos
which I adore,
imperfections and all
maybe even more

A stick and a leaf.
What more do you need?

hide and seek

Attack!

I love these little nature walks in 'the forest', by the park.
Here is another little forest fairytale, at half this age again, eighteen months, which feels like both yesterday and a world away from today.

Nouvelle Vague Bike

Nouvelle Vague Bike, originally uploaded by Federico Erra.

I also very much love this image, which has also been in JPG magazine, and even more so this month while Amélie and I have been biking everywhere lately.
Federico Erra is an amazing photographer!
